Impactful
I have often said that none of it matters if we aren't making a difference. The good news, is we are making a difference. Our work is having a significant impact. In fact, an independent review by Dr. Travis Andrews from ThenAtlas Analytics recently confirmed that our members report significant improvements in anxiety, depression and feelings of stigma.
Those joining the Momentum Center with elevated symptoms of anxiety showed an average 54% reduction in symptoms after 1 year of membership. Similarly, those with depression reported an average 32% reduction in symptoms. Feelings of stigma, which can prevent individuals from seeking help, were 30% improved after 1 year, for those joining with moderate to severe feelings of stigma.
We are creating a community where every person is fully visible and connected. When people find authentic community, they thrive.
We are a nonprofit organization, but the importance of our work is not defined by our financial structure, it is found in the impact we are having. Simon Sinek understands that dynamic and urges us to change our approach to this sector. He would like us to start calling ourselves "For Impact Organizations." I think he's right.
This is, perhaps, the most important moment in our history. We just moved into our new location at 401 N 7th Street in Grand Haven (our Holland location stays the same), we need to raise the money to pay for the building we have just moved into, all the while working hard to educate people who don't understand our work and our primary goal of integrating people into the larger community.
Please help us by telling others about our work and the difference we are making. We are a For Impact Organization creating community where every person is fully visible and connected. We are making a significant difference in the lives of our members - and because I have talked to so many of you over the past few months - I know we are also making a significant difference in Ottawa County.
Thank you and Namaste,
